A-10A Thunderbolt   78632  104 FW Barnes MAP, MA

21208

"Let's Roll !" sign was visible on many aircraft including A-10, F-16, F-117 and Thunderbirds team.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the six Air Force single-ship demonstration teams will fly most of this year's air show season with custom-designed "Let's Roll" nose art on their aircraft. The call to action was uttered by Todd Beamer, who last September was a passenger aboard United Airlines Flight 93. Beamer led other passengers in fighting hijackers for control of the flight that was thought to be heading toward Washington, D.C., but crashed in a field in western Pennsylvania. Air Force Chief of Staff General John J. Jumper said the phrase has become the "rallying cry for this nation as we go forward in the fight against terrorism. We are proud to display this nose art on our aircraft. " The design was created by Senior Airman Duane White, a graphic artist in Air Combat Command's multimedia center at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. The "Let's Roll" artwork will be removed from the Air Force aircraft on September 11, 2002, the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
