This is a JUH-1H with
the "J" identifier meaning that the aircraft has been visually modified.
There are only 5 of this type of helicopter in the world. All 5 are based at
Barstow Daggett
airport in Southern California and are assigned to the National Training Center
Aviation
Company (Air Assault). They fly in support of the Opposing Forces (OPFOR) at
Fort Irwin,
California where they represent a generic Foreign Attack Helicopter. They are
equipped
with the US Army's Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) which
is not unlike
a huge game of lasertag. The pilots and crews for these aircraft are among
the best the Army has to offer and are hand selected to fly this special mission.
