For both pictures were used handheld lens Canon 100-400mm IS with image stabilizer on.

Canon EOS 3 , film Kodak Supra 100, scanned on film scanner CanoScan FS 4000 US set at 2000dpi :

 

Canon  D60 1/1000s  f 5.6  ISO 200   135mm focal length

 

 Below parts of  these pictures compared in full size:

 

1. D60 - JPEG  straight from the camera: 3072 x 2048 pix                         2. EOS 3  2000dpi scan JPEG level 11 Photoshop 7.0

                                                                                                                                                         

 

Digital picture from D60 seems to be cleaner (no grain) but has slightly less details, therefore looks  flatter.

 

3.Left: D60 picture with the Photoshop filter adding soft grain to make it look as close as the real film shot. Looks more realistic, isn't it ?

Right: The same EOS3 pictures as nr 2 above

Filter settings : Grain filter, soft grain, intensity 16, contrast 50, picture size 3072 x 2048 (only part of the pictures shown above)
